Flexibility

"I started working with Karen several years ago to become stronger. She has not only taught me how to deal with and over come some injuries during that time, but also increased my flexibility -- which is an overall plus for my golf game."

- Woody Benson

Flexibility builds over time with exploratory movement in all directions. Without frequent movement, muscles can become imbalanced, distorting alignment and causing undue stress and strain. Both the body and the mind can feel lethargic and aged.

Similarily, when an area of the body is injured, we are likely to freeze and “protect” it; then the muscular tissue gets stuck. The lack of use shrinks the tissue, leading to injured fascia--“knots”-- and causing more pain. Flexibility will prevent injury, stabilize the joints, and allow the blood and neurologic signals from the brain to move more freely throughout the body.

Flexibility opens our bodies and our minds to new ways of being, lightness of spirit, and more youthful bodies and minds.
